The Journey Behind the LJ Experience

LJ’s passion for music started from an early age as a drummer, where his love for beats, rhythm and percussion first began. That passion naturally evolved into DJing, dance music and radio, leading to a journey that has now spanned more than two decades.

In the early 2000s, LJ began promoting his own club nights at venues across North London, alongside DJing at corporate events, weddings and private parties. As his reputation grew, this led to residencies and regular club nights at venues including Destiny Watford, Mint Club and Aura in Mayfair, Oceana and many more.

Radio has also played a huge part in LJ’s journey. From his younger days on London’s pirate radio scene, LJ played and presented across numerous stations, including Freeze FM, Flex FM, Flare FM, Lush FM and Manic FM, as well as spending seven years on Passion FM.

In 2012, LJ reached a major career milestone when he won the Kiss 100 Easter Midnight Mix competition. He later went on to present his own show on Select Radio, continuing to build his presence across London’s dance music airwaves.

More recently, LJ presented the Friday Night Dance Show on a commercial station Vibe 107.6 FM, bringing his energy, personality and passion for dance music to Friday nights.

During his time at Vibe, LJ also gained hands on experience using RCS Zetta radio automation software in a professional broadcast environment.

Now LJ begins a brand new chapter on Subjam, bringing over two decades of experience behind the decks and on the airwaves.
