Chris J

Chris J is a seasoned DJ with 18 years of experience, specialising in 2step vocal UK Garage, both old and new. His journey into the world of garage began through a family connection. With he’s uncles best friend being Jonny J, who was on Freeze FM. Watching Jonny J mix and listening to he’s shows, sparked his passion for the genre ‘Garage’ and lead to him discovering SUBJAM.

As he honed he’s craft, Chris J formed friendships with many influential figures like Gav K, GTE, Slipps, Dave B & SKT, who helped shape he’s musical direction. His signature sound gravitates towards the 2step vocal UK Garage, which he affectionately dubs as ‘girlie garage’.

Chris J’s talents have led to him having opportunities to play at some of Londons most prestigious venues : Ministry of Sound, O2 Arena (Matter), Pacha, Fire, Egg just to name a few. Whilst also regularly playing at various bars and clubs across London, Essex and Hertfordshire.

Currently Chris J holds many residencies across Hertfordshire, where being a multi genre DJ has helped him become very much indemand for the journey and vibe he’s sets bring.

With a passion for music, doing the unexpected and creating mash ups, many of these can be found on platforms such as TheMashup and also performed during he’s live sets.
